RavaR is the studio of Raimonds Rava, a software engineer who spent three and a half years on distributed military training simulators at RUAG/Thales in Bern and now builds simulation systems, editors, and file formats in Odin, C, and C++.
A deterministic world generator written in Odin: tectonic plates set the elevation, temperature and Coriolis-driven winds carry moisture into rain shadows, rivers flow from mountains down to the sea or pool into lakes, biomes follow. Multithreaded, reproducible from a seed, and validated with statistical acceptance tests across many seeds rather than by eye.

Ports run a data-driven economy with production chains and inter-port trade that settles into equilibrium on its own; crew and townsfolk are modelled with a personality system that drives what they do and what they tell you. RavaR is an independent software studio in Sigulda, Latvia, run by Raimonds Rava.
Raimonds spent three and a half years at RUAG/Thales Simulation & Training in Bern, first as a C++ developer and then as a software architect, working on training simulators for armed forces that run across many networked machines: large legacy code bases, distributed simulation, and R&D on world generation, traffic simulation, and sound simulation. Before that he did computer vision research at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science in Riga, with three published conference papers on edge-based traffic monitoring.
Today the studio works on its own simulation and tooling projects and takes on client work in simulation, systems programming, and interactive 3D.
